Is Ariana Grande Cloud a dupe for Baccarat Rouge 540?

Cloud is the most famous "budget Baccarat Rouge" on the internet — a $40-ish bottle that gets name-checked in every BR540 thread. The honest answer: it shares the DNA, but it is not a clone. Here is exactly what overlaps, what doesn't, and what to buy depending on which of the two things you actually want.

Both scents ride the same engine: a sweet, radiant amber base with that creamy-lactonic glow that reads as "expensive" from across a room. That is why Cloud's dry-down keeps getting mistaken for BR540, and why the comparison refuses to die. But Maison Francis Kurkdjian built BR540 around saffron — a sharp, mineral, almost metallic sparkle over jasmine and amberwood. Cloud swaps the saffron for whipped cream, praline and coconut, with a soft lavender-pear opening. Same skeleton, much sweeter skin: Cloud is a gourmand that ends where BR540 lives, not a copy of it.

Cloud vs the real BR540 clones

BottleHouseMatchPriceThe honest read
Casino RoyaleDua Fragrances88~$40 / 34mlAn actual BR540 clone — the saffron glow is there. If BR540 is the goal, start here, not at Cloud.
Crystal No. 23ALT Fragrances85~$40 / 50mlCommunity-cited as one of the truest saffron-amber dry-downs.
Ambery SaffronDossier80~$29 / 50mlThe signature at the lowest price; softer and less linear.
CloudAriana Grande~70~$40 / 100mlAdjacent, not a clone — creamier, sweeter, no saffron. The best per-ml value on this list, and a great scent in its own right.

Which should you buy?

What about Cloud Pink and Cloud 2.0?

Two flankers, two different answers. Cloud Pink is a fruitier, berry-leaning take — pleasant, but it drifts further from BR540, and despite what the search results imply it is not a dupe of anything in particular. Cloud 2.0 Intense is the denser, boozier version of the original; if the standard Cloud fades too fast on you, 2.0 is the upgrade that keeps the same character.

The Bath & Body Works question

The mist the community names most as a Cloud-alike is Butterfly. It genuinely gestures at the same creamy-sweet cloud of musk — but it is a fine fragrance mist, so it hugs the skin and is gone in a couple of hours. Fine as a locker-room refresher; not a substitute for the eau de parfum, and two steps removed from actual BR540.

Compare all of these side by side — with notes, longevity and "if you like this, try…" — in the dupe finder. For how the clone houses differ, read clone houses explained.
